The style is very similar to the Spon End waterworks manager's house.

yes, the old smithy is just before you get to Nailcote Ave but on opposite side of road. George Duggins also ran the smithy at Westwood just east of St John the Baptist church.

An interesting view of the roundabout at the Tile Hill Lane junction with the A45 in about 1958, courtesy of the Gone But Not Forgotten website
In the 60 years since, the complexity of the junction has grown so much that it now needs over 60 sets of traffic lights and the A45 is now 12 lanes wide at this point plus another five lanes for the unfortunate traffic from Tile Hill Lane that wishes to travel south on the A45.

Toogoods worked around Tile Hill, Allesley, Coundon, Canley areas. Working very long hours, especially Christmas time. He did not have a mobile chip van.

Does anyone know what the Barclays Bank was on the corner of Tile Hill Lane and Fletchamstead Highway? Looks a lot different post-war - BFA 1946 |

Hi, anyone know what the pub was/is that was opposite Tile Hill College back in the 80s? I think it was set back from the road up a sloping driveway. Spent a lot of time in there in 1982 whilst on day release as an apprentice from Rolls Royce. Great memories of getting hammered at 17 on 2 hour lunch breaks |

I came across this photo of my late father "Mick" Riley holding the ball for the 1934-35 team photo at what I think was called Tile Hill School.
He was born in 1920 so would have been 14 at the time.
Has anyone any other details of names of pupils or staff in the photo?
