Can you buy an all day bus pass and if so do you know how much one is? Can you buy it on the bus? Many thanks Gilly.

Hi Gilly,
There are various passes for travel within the West Midlands. That's easy. It gets complicated & messy as there is no global ticket for outside of the West Midlands except with individual bus operators.
Currently even Warwickshire is excluded. |

Thank you both. Only need local (around Coventry area) Day pass would suit our needs. Can we purchase as we board the bus? |

Hi, here's a crop of the larger map.
I uploaded a smaller version of the whole map
but the detail wasn't clear enough to see the Coventry Arena (Ricoh).
So I uploaded the large version which you can see, since you only need
the local area I've cropped the larger map.
I did post an explanation about the larger and smaller maps but
it failed to show with the map itself.

Thanks Philip & Heathite.
Now I know where I'm allowed for free. Find it strange though that in many cases the boundary splits local stations? For instance Wythall and Earlswood?

Hi Mick,
One of our forum members Peter B, is very expert on public transport, so I'm waiting to see what he adds to this.
Over the past decades, Warwick County Council, which is very sub-divided into management areas, has often been invited to join in the West Midlands Global authority, thereby benefiting from shared infrastructure. Originally a Birmingham regional scheme, Coventry joined, then Solihull. My memory is very sketchy on this now, but it's politics that is at the foot of most of these quirky scenarios. |

Hi all,
My reward for rambling on today is enjoying this cup of lemon & ginger tea.
It was so refreshing. I love tea & until recently other than decaf tea, I've never ventured into the minority teas. I've tried several, but this has to be for me the vote winner.
That was in the Royal Cafe at the top of the Parade in Leamington.
All aboard the X18.

Hi Philip.
Did you get all of the way to Leamington using your WM pass?

Hi Mick,
Not the train. We can go anywhere on bus.
I stayed in Leamington today, but recently I've been to Stratford & Evesham.
The train, we are restricted within the West Midlands. The local buses, we can go to anywhere in England. |

Got back late last night from a "Lads & Dads" long weekend ramble around Milan.
My son and me took in F1 qualifying on Saturday. The Monza GP at 3pm Sunday and then a quick dash to the San Ciro to get there in time for the KO of Inter Milan vs Florentino.
Full on weekend, with lots of buses, trains and Metro's but still managed to record 17,000 + steps per day. But well worth it to spend so much quality time with him !!
Thanks Calum x

My Great Uncle Samuel Walter Savage was on board HMS Natal which was blown up in Scapa Flow in 1915. I think the wreck was visible for a long time but they had to blow it up as it was a hazard to shipping. It is now a controlled site under the protection of military remains. Sounds like a lovely weekend though in a beautiful part of the country. |
