Lily Beresford

Hi. I'm trying to trace my family on my grandmothers' side. Does anyone know of Lily Beresford? Her mother was called Elizabeth and her sister was called Adelaide. I'm not sure if they are from Coventry but that is where my grandad Thomas Ward was originally from, so I'm hoping my grandmothers' family are from there also. If anyone knew of either family, any info would be welcome. Thanks.

Hi Jackstar, the only Elizabeth Beresford (married to Edward) with a daughter named Adelade (different spelling to your post above) was living at "1 Back Albert Street East" in Oldbury in 1891. (found on the 1891 census) Adelade was 6 in that year, but no sign of Lily. She had two brothers listed; William (7) and Edward (2). Only had a quick look but cannot see any other record of them. Do you have any more info at all?

Hi Jackstar. Thomas Ward married Lily Beresford 1927 in Sheffield There is Lily Beresford aged 7 in 1911 living at 15/3 Wentworth Street Sheffield with parents Albert and Elizabeth and siblings. Adelaide Beresford was born in Sheffield in 1919, mother's name Fisher Albert Beresford and Elizabeth Fisher were married in Sheffield in 1902 I think this must be your Lily. Just realised you are in Sheffield
