Could I suggest Mary Creagh, a politician and former Labour MP, to be inducted into Famous Coventrians? Although finding fame elsewhere she is Coventry born-and-bred, and her details can be found here on Wikipedia. Edited by Midland Red, 12th Mar 2021 11:11 am (Link clarified)

Five star reviews, Waterstones best-sellers and all written by Coventry's own Ruth Cherrington. We released the 'Dirty Stop Out's Guide to 1970s Coventry' to massive critical acclaim and followed that up a year later with the 1980s version. Would Ruth qualify?

Thank you so very much for adding me as a Famous Coventrian! I'm very honoured and proud. And big thanks to Mick Strong for nominating me. You know I'll always keep waving the flag for my home city through my writings and also my radio interviews and social media. The city has been through so much across many centuries and I'm pleased that it's where I was born and brought. It's a special place. This Forum does a wonderful job and has helped me a lot over the years. Very much appreciated, always. Wave

Did anyone watch the recent BBC drama Ridley Road? I was amazed to learn that the main character Colin Jordan was a leading figure in post-war neo-Nazism in Great Britain. He also lived in Coventry, got married in Coventry and was a teacher at Stoke boys school. There is lots of footage of him in Coventry on YouTube. It is unbelievable that only 15 years after WW2 that Jordan was allowed to promote his National Socialist Movement for so long.

He didn't. He got a hard time at his wedding, but he was treated as a joke, he never got far up the ladder in Oswald Mosley's group.
