Hi to you all Wave PAM UPDATE: Pam continues to receive the lovely care and treatment at UHCW. She does have up and down days, but her response to her two chemo bouts has been truly remarkable, so much so, her third is booked for a week on Monday. We both express our joyful gratitude to everyone, for the kindness shown throughout this ordeal. Her visitor tally now stands at over 60 (not all at once you understand). Her ward, no.35, is such a long walk, we take a packed lunch. When we arrive, I think we are in Leicestershire. I do look in on the forum most days, I haven't lost touch and hopefully not my mind either. I am grateful for the team covering, very, very much so. Cheers

I, as well as other members on this forum I am sure, thank you Philip for keeping us up to date about Pam's progress. What an ordeal to have to go through. She is from strong stock I bet, so you must tell her she is in our thoughts and you in her's too, so look after yourself. Wave

Hi all Wave A Story. My Pam continues to receive loving care at UHCW. Her next chemo dose is on Monday all being well. Anyway, life still goes on. I am so grateful to family and friends who are helping me keep home ship-shape. I still have my enjoyments, a bit of music and the odd shunt in the goods yard, as I call it. PS. You're all getting this burp, because I am waiting for the tumble drier to finish. Just prior to Christmas 1982, my Pam accompanied by our twelve year old Michael, trudged to Beatties model shop in Birmingham to treat me to the first ever ready to run Manor loco. Bachmann 4-6-0, tender loco. Forty years on, and after receiving a major overhaul last year, it itself trundled through Bramble Grove this evening. It's a fabulous runner to this day. Pam must have loved me then! I did a post about this loco on our model railway topic, but the subject of this post is my Pam. Wave See post 631 in Our World in Miniature

Hi all Wave With my care-home lady still in UHCW, I'm trying to be good and maintain some sort of order. I am helped by a weekly domestic help, who is fabulous.

Hi all Wave Pam is home but wired up with tube feed supplements. Lots of suitability assessments taking place over the coming days. It's lovely to have her home, even though she won't stop shouting at me, I keep getting it wrong. Love to you all Wave

Bad luck Philip, my wife keeps shouting at me but I just take my hearing aids out and then it doesn't bother me. Can't you borrow some hearing aids from a friend and then you can take them out and that might cure it. Happy

Aww, a little patience goes a long long way Philip. Wait till Pam runs her fingers along the picture rails, you haven't suffered enough yet! Seriously, lovely to see she is home again, so get your nurses outfit on and do your duty (I would like to see that) Lol A big WELCOME HOME PAM x

Hi Philip. I expect she is feeling frustrated that she wants to get back to things herself and she is not able to. Let's hope it is not too long to the next stage where she is doing things and you are shouting at her not to do too much. Anyway, I am glad she is back home with you. Keep smiling. xx Wave Wave

Just spotted your update! Great news Philip! What you need is a walk-talkie. That way you have no excuse for not hearing Pam when she wants you!

Afternoon all Wave Pam is responding well to her treatment at present, shackled somewhat by tubes, but delighted to be home in Pam's cottage hospital in Holbrooks. That is something else we will have to add to our Hall Brooks railway. Hey!
