Hi Midland Red, you're observant, I only put it a couple of days ago ; my Dad told me about him and showed me his grave in the old part of London Road Cemetery. Spencer was quite an amazing guy. |

I was at the Theatre Royal in London on Saturday and noticed a plaque under one of the paintings in the foyer, it read, "Presented by the Executors of the late Milner Montgomery Moore MD of Coventry". Does anyone know anything about him? Question |

Archbishop of Canterbury Very Revd Justin Welby, one of our Famous Coventrians, went on Radio 4's Desert Island Discs this morning and chose You'll Never Walk Alone by Gerry And The Pacemakers as one of his top eight. Good call, Justin! |

I have just corrected a glaring omission from our "Famous Coventrians" list, by adding the name Harry Walker, the oldest living England Rugby International, who celebrated his 100th birthday last Wednesday (11 Feb).
Anyone who knows anything about Coventry RFC will be well aware of the service Harry gave to the club, particularly through the glorious post-war years when "Cov" was unquestionably the country's no.1 team and he clearly should have been included on our list from the start |

Coventry pop bands have been mentioned under this topic, and I have noticed that there is a programme on Vintage TV tonight at 10pm called Focus on Coventry. This will apparently examine Coventry's contribution to pop culture through such bands as The Specials, Fun Boy Three, King and more. |
