Thanks again Les, The place looks entirely different when it is empty like that, considering it used to be full of machinery. I worked close to the hardening shop, and a few of us were always complaining about the heat radiating from it, and the smell, so after several Union meetings and threats of a walkout eventually they screened the whole thing in with tall insulated panels which improved things a lot...

Great pictures again Les! The view between J Block and the foundry brought back a painful memory. At the end of that drive (railway line end) there was a building that housed the sand used in the foundry and I took the corner a little fast and dropped my motor bike on the loose sand scattered on the road. The bike was a triumph 650 (T100) so it was quite heavy hence resulting in a trip to the surgery after the dinner break to get my leg cleaned up. Once again thanks for the memories. Cheers Bri. |

At the risk of being picky the Triumph T100 or Tiger hundred was 500cc. The 650 models were the famous Bonneville, its single carb version , the Trophy,
the T110 or the Thunderbird.
I,m sure that others could be more definitive than me. |

Hi, your quite right it was a T110 in cream with the bath tub rear mudguard. The first Triumph I had was a sports cub in maroon and grey. Thanks for correcting me. Which I had them now!!. Cheers Bri |

Main office block viewed from the gate.
Remember the flag on the flag pole? Was it a BMC flag, British Leyland, Austin Morris or the Bullnose Morris engines flag?
Does anyone know what ever happened to these flags? I bet it was that crane driver that had em. |

Hi Les, great pictures again, remember playing cricket and football many times on that field. Looks as though the cricket square has been taped off in one of the photo's ready for a match. Am I right in remembering the wages department was at the front end of the drive? As the years go by things start to fade so pics are of great interest and memory joggers ! Cheers Bri |

Some more good pics Les. Have you got some more coming? The flags might be in the Motor Museum where the plate that was on the wall adjacent to the gate on Bell Green road now resides.

Hi Normk Sorry it's took me so long to reply that badge brought back some memories I'm not a fisherman but a chap I used to work with was his name was George Wood and he used to bang on about fishing at every opportunity and when he was going to a comp Well that was it he was preparing for it a month in advance right down to what colour socks he was going to wear and the story of when he caught a 25 foot pike at Napton resy he fought it for 3hours just pulling it out of the resy and his fags and lighter fell out of his pocket he tried to catch em and the Pike got away well you couldn't make it up could you well I suppose being a fisherman you could.
