So if some poor individual who is classed as 'obese' is refused entry onto a bus (because of the weight issue) can he/she sue? Question |

Given the way "obese" is defined - it would potentially bar a lot of the drivers from boarding the bus
I drove for Arriva for a number of years and I recall a customer managing to spill a tin of paint on the floor of the single decker that was just about to depart from the city centre (not Coventry) - people were still trying to board the bus with the floor coated in bright purple paint |

Island cafe,
Did you ever find a photo of one of those gas trailers of the war, think there were only a handful? |

Thank you, Annewiggy.
Afraid not, believe this is some sort of baggage transport vehicle. The gas tanks did not appear till about 42 time. You remember those old water barrels of steel, round and corrugated? Well, like those, on like motor-cycle wheels, not quite the width of the bus, and only half as tall, but a gas-tank. How they converted I have no idea. |

Annewiggy,
Brilliant, now we know how, I wondered about that vehicle carrying gas in a gas bag in wartime. So, did Coventry have gas engine buses? Or did I see them in some other town, with reserve gas in metal container? |

It would seem that the trailer produced its own gas from wood, there were also coal gas conversions and charcoal as well as gas bags. Just spent a nice hour finding out about them. A few more hours to kill then back to bed to look forward to another day, hey ho but it is nice to know when you wake up you are still here |

On MR pic of the trailer it has a GF reg which I think is Hampshire, can anyone recognise where it was taken? That tower is very prominent. |
