Hey, fantastic work everyone! So, using InnisRoad's bus-stop dating, Midland Red's recognition of the Standard 8 and scrutiny's built in sun-dial, we can narrow it down to eight minutes past one in the afternoon between 1953 and 1956 !!! ![]() |

Perhaps you also noticed the shop opposite, at the top of Trinity Street, is Timpson's. In those days, Timpson was a budget shoe shop, albeit part of the British Shoe Corporation, which owned most of the High Street shoe shop chains. Not at all like the modern Timpson chain, shoe repairs, key cutting and watch batteries. Regards Innis Road

Another observation: there is centre-of-the-road parking in Trinity Street. That disappeared when Trinity Street became one-way. Regards Innis Road

Isn't she heading for Broadgate
I think so.

on the correct side of the road, with the "central parking" vehicles to her right?
It's possible, the picture is very ambiguous.

It has to be after April 1955 because that is when the Owen Owen sign was removed from the top of the building behind the bus on the corner of New Buildings. It became True-Form shoes after that.

Is that Arthur Ford who went on from being a bus driver to become the Lord Mayor's Chauffeur?![]() |

A short video linked here about a bus strike but I was interested in first few seconds of bus stops and the town...
Bus Strike 1962
And another 1962 brief shot of the town, I posted it here because there is a one second shot of a bus ![]() |

All you clever and knowledgeable people out there, can you tell me where was the Keresley bus terminus in 1960? I think it was the 16. I mean the Keresley end of course! |

To 'pad out' Dutchman's link-the bus didn't back out to reverse, it went round a small island thing. The terminus was next to the purpose built shops that you can still see on Google maps next to Rathbone Close. Of course, Keresley End is technically under Bedworth, but the bus starts in Coventry. |
