King Henry VIII Grammar School

I cannot put an individual's name to it after all these years, but my parents, who had a shop, used a Coventry firm of solicitors. A couple of years after they retired from the business, it was reported in the CET that a solicitor at that firm had been squandering clients' money for his own purposes; big amounts of money! I wonder if it was the same person. I think the original name of the firm was Green, or Greens, but by the time it hit the CET, the name Elfords had been added.

Slim, Could he have been a big tall chap, drove a Roller and wore a gangster style hat and had the initials GF?

Roger I know who you are referring to, he was our first solicitor and had an office in Warwick Road opposite the garage. He raided his clients account, our second solicitor did the same. Alan H

Roger, I don't know about a Roller, stetson or six-shooter for that matter, or what his initials were, but I do remember my parents' solicitors surname, and wonder if that is what you are alluding to with the bit in bold and italics? (Clue: that lanky lad from the furniture department!) I also have no idea whether it was my parents' solicitor who was embezzling, or some other solicitor.

Sorry I couldn`t help you with your story Slim, but equally it doesn`t help with my story. Perhaps there is somebody on here who played for the Old Coventrians rugby club between 1962/74, they might know who I am talking about. It should also be noted that not all people who played for the OC`s were ex KHS.
