City of Coventry Salvation Army Band

I'm looking for any information/photos that relate to the C of C Salvation Army Band up to 1914. My great uncle was a member before he went off to fight for King & Country but sadly he was killed in 1914. Unfortunately we have no photos as my grandfather (the great uncle's brother-in-law) disposed of every photo in his house shortly before he died. My great uncle's name was William Richard Northall and his wife was Violet Worrall and when they moved to Coventry they lived at 30 St Georges Rd. Not sure if Violet remarried so if there is anyone who knows of this lady or her family etc it would be appreciated. Along with photos etc of the SA Band. Have tried the SA but they cannot help. EWG

There is a Violet Northall born in 1892 who died in 1974 registered in Coventry so it could well be that she did not remarry.

Welcome to our forum CovNovice. William Richard Northall and his father are both buried in the same grave in London Road Cemetery. I have emailed details to you.

Does anyone recognise where this is? Added to this thread as its shows the 'Coventry Young Peoples Band' going past a Salvation Army building but is it Coventry? Its a poser from CliifB -

Was a Kemp Wat... working at the White Swan Garage in Coventry?

I can't even find a White Swan Garage Helen so thinking its not Cov.

It is Southall. There is a Kemp Watson in a news article that mentions the White Swan Garage. There is a facebook page with pictures on but I don't like to copy them off there, there is a quite clear picture of it. If you look at Google maps another view shows scaffolding and there is a White Swan Garage sign underneath.

Just had a though Neil, would it be OK if I posted the band picture on the Southall Salvation Army Facebook page, I am sure they would be interested, then I could ask them if I could use their picture of the building ?

Southall Salvation Army Citadel Facebook page have just put my post on their site ! They obviously don't monitor their site very often. They have confirmed it is the Southall Citadel and thet the sign says it is the Coventry Young People's band but do not have any further information.
