Checked some old trophies today. The Monday night league was the Fillongley and District darts and dominoes league.

Coventry has always had great dart players and teams... Green Man and Brooklands used to dominate Friday nights for years in the 80s/90s..

I played darts for Massey Ferguson for a period of 2/3 years in the 80s/early 90s. We played on a Monday and Friday night and had some cracking players. I also remember Norman Trewick. My Dad, Vic Alsop, played with him at the Tile Hill Social Club in the 60s.

Another 6 year old post to resurrect. Read through all of these threads and cannot find a name that should be mentioned. Alan Wardell, he actually beat the great Alun Evans at an exhibition. Last time we played each other was at the Craven.

I know my dad went to London in a 'News of the World' competition - don't remember how he got on.

My Dad [Arthur Oldham] was a really good darts player around the Foleshill area. He played for the New Inn and the Engine. Attached is a certificate for being the winner of a charity competition in 1945 and photos of a small cup for being a member of the Engine team that were runners-up in the Foleshill & District Division 1 in the 1945-46 season.

Thinking about it now. Monday nights was Fillongley and District league. Played both darts and dominoes.
