I know nothing about football but am I wrong in thinking that the big stadia like the Ricoh/CBS arena were something of a jinx/albatross for clubs? Attracting big investors that the clubs can't satisfy on top of paying for the facilities and players. One wrong step and the bills become unsustainable. Sky etc are trying to wring more money out of the game than fans can or will fork out. eg I cancelled Sky TV when it became apparent that normal packages were subsidising the sporting rights. Terrestrial channels have to increasingly rely on women's sport and obscure tournaments. Are sports enthusiasts growing in number or decreasing? Certainly the paying channels are all suffering a reduction in audiences as the cost of living crisis reverses the stay at home wave of new customers. What do sports followers think? |

So here we go. Mike Ashley is already being the jerk we know he is! Coventry City have been served notice to leave the stadium as soon as. What the hell is this man's problem? He buys the stadium and then tells the only team playing there to get out. Is he trying to force the sale of the team to him by putting them in an impossible position? Just when the supporters start to hope the future looks better, this idiot starts playing stupid games with a team he has no connection with. Shame on him!!! |

I wish my friend Jim Arnold was still with us, he would have been over the moon at yesterday's news that Sisu has finally GONE. |

He owns the arena, he calls the terms. SISU, with all the legal wranglings, etc made a complete hash of everything and eventually lost out.Nicholson

What a player, though - one of the most exciting I've seen playing in Sky Blue. Whenever Nuddy got the ball everyone was on their feet. |

Yes I agree, seeing Ndlovu on the ball always created a buzz of excitement. His usual downfall was trying to beat just one too many defenders before passing!
For a couple of his early years he lodged with friends just across the street to us, so we got to see him about quite a bit. The first time I went into their lounge when he was there with two visiting sisters, I felt strangely self conscious in his presence! We got a nice snap of Bev with him though....

Well, a hugely important day today for all City fans as we need a draw away at Middlesbrough to confirm our place in the play offs. I've mixed feelings really, yes a great opportunity that is in our own hands although a combination of other results could help us out should we fail today. But there's also an inbuilt pessimism as a City fan, despite the huge advances made by the Club under Mark Robins, in particular this season with everything that's been against us.
Que cera cera, fingers crossed for the right results today.

Can't let last night go without a mention - fantastic to finally see some good times back at the club. Those final 10 mins were unbearable - where did the ref get 8 mins extra time from?! Anyway PUSB - My first game was in 1976 vs Newcastle - Dad would've loved last night - Right now how do I get those final tickets!!
