It was announced a few minutes ago that SISU have lodged their appeal, directly to the Court of Appeal, about an hour before the deadline this evening.
This now torpedoes any chance at the team returning to the Ricoh as ACL have said for a long time that all matters must be completed before any talks can take place.
Once again SISU prove that they are not the people to be in charge of our football club |

Hi all
Whatever the politics, rights or wrongs or even the lack of negotiating skills, which is very evident, along with apparent false & I believe deliberately misleading statements made to the media over a long period of time, it's the fans along with the game of football which are the losers. The momentum of supporting Coventry City football club may have dropped out to a point of no return. I don't know, but that is my biggest fear just now. |

On the subject of the Sky Blues and SISU, isn't it strange how, knowing that the Football League would obviously instruct them to make (some sort of) a payment, that they suddenly started hinting that "they wanted to get back to the Ricoh". This was something that TF had categorically dismissed up until that point and I'm convinced was done purely to get fans hopes up and put some sort of pressure on ACL agreeing to talks.
However, all along ACL have said that they would not enter into talks until this whole charade was over and finished, and that included SISU dropping their appeal against the SECOND High Court ruling made against them.
Then, with one hour to go to the deadline, and absolutely no signs of ACL giving in - and I think the majority of supporters would say "thankfully" - SISU yet again now pull their true colours out of the bag and present their papers to the Court of Appeal! Not really any surprise there then!
We must now wait for yet more time-consuming court time, for a yet another (single) Judge to decide whether Mr Justice Hickinbottom was wrong in his decision. If that Judge then decides - and it happened last time - that somehow there was an error in the judgement - we are then off to yet another hearing before a full bench of a further three appeal judges.
I for one am not holding my breath! |

Hi all, Hi Tony,
It's the deliberate deceit & untruthfulness which gives me very little hope regards the future on this very sad state of affairs. In any business, I believe, the most important aspect is the people that we are dealing with. As with the right people, anything can be sorted. When this whole horrid affair was breaking ages ago, I listened to Shane O'Connor interviewing the chief exec on breakfast wireless, where he challenged him on what he had previously said on a previous breakfast show, that had turned out to be false, to which he avoided the question. Truth appears not to be valued.

With a thief, we usually have something missing.
With a liar, nobody knows where they are. |

Unfortunately that is me pretty much done with them now. I was a season ticket holder for many years and supporting the club was a major part of my life.
It is now too painful to keep that level of passion up. I cannot allow myself to have my loyalty abused by a greedy, lying hedge fund who is prepared to destroy my club because they want their money back on a bad investment.
I'm sure there are many more like me, and I suspect now that even a return to the Ricoh wouldn't see crowds rise much above 8k. |

I so agree with you new26. I must admit to never being fortunate enough to be a season ticket holder - but I have supported them since I was a 5 year old, standing on the kop at the Swan Lane end of Highfield Road.
In recent years, if not going to 'the game', I have never wandered far from the radio on a Saturday afternoon to listen to BBC-CW's commentary on the match. What is really sad, at the start of this new season I find myself on the verge of giving up completely.
I listened to that first game a week ago and with a combination of the commentators enthusiasm when either team attacked, and the fact that City fielded EIGHT new players whose names I failed to recognise, I couldn't tell who was attacking who. (Don't get me started on the Carl Baker situation)
I'm sure that even if we could snap our fingers and put it all right, the people that call themselves the board of Coventry City Football Club will have lost half the fans for good.
Now that can't be good for football in general let alone CCFC. |

I started supporting the Bantams/Sky Blues in 1946. It would take me months to write down all of the "mistakes" since SISU arrived.
Suffice to say it was the worse day in CCFC's history when Robinson sold out to SISU. |

At last. After going round and round in circles all this time it makes me wonder how much this has cost in legal fees. Probably more than the original debt. Well, at least we`ve got our team back in Coventry - hopefully. |

Call me cynical (Hi Cynical ) but I do wonder if SISU are simply trying to raise some extra cash from the potential increased attendance at the Ricoh with which to pay their current legal bills |

I don't, I hope it bankrupts them. After all the heartbreak they have caused supporters it would be just reward. |

So, after months of protest the team are finally back where they belong at the Ricoh!! The game against Gillingham kicks off at 7:45. For those that can't make it, it's live on Sky Sports.
A sell out game, which must be a bit daunting for the players after having played in front of about 1200 all last season they now have a crowd of 28,000 to contend with
I'll be up there with my son and grandson (it will be my grandson's first "real" game)
Just announced this minute that another 200 tickets will be on sale on-line at 10:00 this morning on the club shop web-site.
So, are you going? Tell us if you are!
