I think what has happened is that this SISU company have engineered this administration and done something like one of those 'pre packaged' administrations. Except it's been bought back by a company they set up a few years ago... It's all a bit bizarre, but I suspect it's all been done to get out of the contract with the Ricoh.

I understood that part, thanks Flapdoodle. What don't understand is the assumption being made here and on a certain Sky Blues forum that this means the automatic dissolution of Coventry City Football Club?

I don't think it will be that - I just don't see any way of SISU making a go of this. They've failed miserably so far and I just feel it's going to be down-hill from here. Tim Fisher appears content to blame everyone but themselves! He seems to have no respect for the fans and a bloody-minded assumption that the fans will follow them wherever - and I seriously don't believe they will. |

It's sad to see that the club has become such a big farce, I agree that this does look like it's been engineered by SISU. Brian Richardson started the decline of the club and SISU put the nails in the coffin. The administrator has always seemed a little bit dodgy and to say he accepted the new owners because they put in the highest bid doesn't seem like a valid reason to me.

The administrator, by law, has to recover the most he can for the creditors. Although in this case it's bizarre, because the company that he's sold it to was set up by SISU about 2 years ago and even then there were suspicions that it was being done in anticipation of the club going into administration.
I wonder if they will now hold the Arena to ransom?
The whole thing is a total mess, not only for the football, but for the whole 'plans' for regeneration - another dismal failure by the council who are involved with this fiasco right up to their necks! |

It seems a bit wrong to just accept the highest bid, surely the suitable owners thing comes into it somewhere. It means I won't be renewing my season ticket, just SISU under another name. |

SISU have not presented their accounts on time for at least three successive years, this has resulted in CCFC being saddled with a transfer embargo each year. Add to that the SISU refusal to pay the contracted rents to both ACL and the Higgs charity for the Academy training facility, and the FL & FA have enough evidence to rule them not fit and proper persons to run a football club.

I have no interest whatsoever in football (and therefore know nothing about this situation) however I know other people are passionate about it. I have been reading about it and my understanding is that there is a large amount of outstanding rent owed to ACL. If (SISU using whatever name they call the purchasing company) buy the company then do they get away with not paying that rent? If so that doesn't seem very fair to me. |

In part, yes. The money offered by Otium Entertainment will be used to pay-off unsecured creditors of which ACL is one. How much each unsecured creditor will receive depends on the size of the bid but it is very unlikely to be 100% of what was previously owed. All we know is that it is a higher percentage than any of the other bidders was offering.

Yes it's truly amazing that a company with declared assets of just ONE THOUSAND POUNDS, according to Companies House, can make a winning bid. Especially when the three directors of said company are ex-board members of CCFC,and even more so when the said company was set up in 2011 and have never previously traded. |

This has panned out exactly as expected, and I remain convinced that CCFC will not exist in a couple of years, or less. The whole thing is an appalling charade and it is time the Serious Fraud Office were looking at the club's affairs over the last 10-15 years. |

Looking at this situation from a "non football supporter" aspect it seems obvious to me that there is a hidden agenda which is totally separate from providing a successful football club for Coventry. On the face of it the Coventry City fans look to be getting a pretty poor deal with this so called buy out Joe Elliott and friends would I am sure have done a lot more for the club (and for the right reasons too) |

The charade continues, Dulieu, Igwe and Brody have all resigned as directors of Otium Entertainment and have been replaced by ......... one Timothy Fisher and one other person.
Just when will the powers that be wake up and smell the roses.
Should Preston Haskell IV continue with his bid to buy half of the Ricoh , the writing will be well and truly on the wall for SISU |
