Smashing little book, expect you are thrilled with the autographs. Well if that was 1930, he would only have been 15 years old then. I suspect we shall find more, it will be good for you as the owner of the autograph book to hear his voice on that apple link and maybe he will speak of his career as well.

Section Leader Brandon Moss, GC, of Coventry Brandon Moss was awarded the George Cross for his "superhuman efforts and utter disregard for personal injury" while serving as a Special Constable with the Coventry Constabulary. He led two rescue attempts on houses which had been destroyed by a high explosive bomb during heavy German air raids on 14 November 1940 in the Coventry Blitz, managing to free three people trapped in the rubble in the first and another person in the second after seven hours of digging through the night. He also recovered four bodies. A fractured gas main, further air raids and a delayed action bomb no more than twenty yards from the scene added to the danger of falling masonry and structural collapse. The citation for his award was published in the London Gazette on 13 December 1940, when he was presented with the George Cross by King George VI at Buckingham Palace. Moss married Vera Watson and had two daughters. He died, aged 90, in Coventry on August 9, 1999. His GC is now on display at the Lord Ashcroft VC Gallery in the Imperial War Museum, London.

He is excellent isn't he Dreamtime. There's a couple in there that you would be hard pushed to tell they were not photos.

I can't get over them, I thought you were joking and they were photographs. How he captures the light and his skill with the trees, nos. 7, 8 and 9 were my favourites and the telephone box one but all amazing, thanks for introducing us to him Neils Yard.

No problem all - glad they are enjoyed as much as I do. One of the most amazing things about Georges' work is that he uses Humbrol paints - yes as in the ones you use with Airfix models!

Did anyone spot this scene below on the news the other day? Keith West sent me the photo by email, but then a day or two later, after I'd almost forgotten about it, I noticed a news item about the voting for women bishops (and a very negative outcome, in my opnion - are we still in the dark ages? Sorry, that's for a different topic!). Anyway, there in the background was a huge painting, which I immediately recognised! Thank you Keith for sharing your talent with us.

I agree Anne. I just one word 'Beautifulfantastic'. I would love to see it one day. All these great artists names are appearing on the Forum lately, what an education! Here you are Anne, have some of mine. Some folk out there will be inclined to stick with old traditions regarding women bishops, but we have to move with the times and times - as the song goes - 'are achanging'.
