Hi Heathite. Do you have trees near you? It could be a willow warbler, it certainly looks like one of the warbler family. |

Hello and thank you for the suggestion. There are many trees in the area, and not far from water either (Wyken slough).
I'll look into it further.
I've had a look and I think it could be a garden warbler. |

Much as I love to watch this female Sparrow Hawk it grieves me to be losing my small bird population, but as the saying goes,
Nature is red in tooth and claw.

We had a grey wagtail visit this morning. First one we've had since 2014. A real pleasure.

Last night's sunset from my wife's apartment overlooking what was Elm Bank school, Parkside, with Christ Church spire to the right foreground and St Osburg just visible in the background.

Picture taken today. This yucca is still flowering and more sprouts coming despite the weather.

Hi all, another visit from a Sparrowhawk.
I don't know if it is the same one as yesterday.
But what a handsome creature

We've recently started to get visits from a large crow, who we've named "the upstart"! He's a clever so-n-so, who finds pieces of crusty bread, then dunks them in our bird-bath to soften them before eating. They're not daft these birds!

Taken from our patio rather than our window, I believe it's a long tailed shrike:
