This thread brought back some memories!
I lost Spencer two days before his fourth birthday. I was absolutely gutted and swore to never have another dog. |

Parsley has a beautiful fur coat, Neil, very striking markings. Any particular reason for his name Parsley?

All of them loved to bits.

Over the years I think I've had just about every possible pet from mice and rabbits to snakes and lizards. We've always had cats (sometimes as many as four at a time). Our present cat Lulu we have had for over ten years. We rescued her because she was the runt of the litter and although we tried many different types of cat food we couldn't get her to eat, she refused to eat anything although she was obviously very hungry no matter how long we left her food in the bowl, using the theory that eventually she would eat. All our previous cats had eaten anything put in front of them so after having her checked out at the vets we began to get desperate and tried various unusual cat foods. We eventually found out what the problem was when we found her eating carrot. We have got a vegetarian cat! She still shows virtually no interest in meat or fish and prefers her plant based food and loves grass (maybe she's really a sheep) but the vet says she's in perfect health. Although she's now ten she still behaves like a kitten and is very fond of sneaking up and attacking rugs and is sat on the keyboard as I'm trying to type this, I keep moving her off and she keeps walking back on. |

My cat (looks very much like Neil's) also sits on my keyboard. It's the heat from the power supply attracts her, and she really doesn't appreciate being moved on. |

Hi Poetscorner, it looks very like the coronavirus but they're red. This must be the dreaded lurgy. They're only dangerous if you trip over them. |

Dreamtime, I know what you mean. He's known as "full-on" Ted.... games are serious.
We've got two of them btw...... not easy with one trip out per day at the moment, but they're brilliant company and have trained me well

Awww! I love doggies but I'm betting that their conversations would be both hilarious and embarrassing.
I'd love an animal but I'm a disaster area for house plants, never mind another living creature. I have a triffid in the dining room that tries to eat me if I either water it too much or too little but apart from that I try to keep the house free of anything but me. Even the woodlice come here to die on my freshly vacuumed carpet. |

... and I bet you talk to them as well, Helen. The only time plants die is when you threaten them - 'Grow nicely or you die' |

You're not wrong Dreamtime One of the side effects and pleasures of living alone is talking to things and not being locked up. The triffid gets quite a few words because it regularly manages to get in the way of the door. Once, it dangled its fronds in my dinner and then wiped gravy over my hair as I walked by. I gave it a talking to with a strong pair of scissors. |
