Good afternoon all, A neighbour has suffered threats for refusing to pay more than she was quoted for her requested tree work. What's more of a concern, is that the details on the side of the truck, refer to a business operating in Ireland, with no connection to any activity anywhere else. Certainly not Coventry. That means, no insurance for injury or third-party liabilities. It possibly means that there may be a pile of tree/bush cuttings lying around somewhere. Only a possibility! The police have been informed.

Hello, Do you receive telephone calls, telling you that you have made unaccustomed payments? Please do not follow the phone call instructions. Pressing any call buttons starts the procedure of disclosing your details. The calls are very common. Often, "This is a banking security call". Once I hear that, the phone call is ended. I do check with my banks through my own procedure. Have a good day all, possibly a bit soggy for the rest of the day.

I once received a text on my mobile, claiming to be from Santander, saying a new payment had been set up on my account. "Oh yeah?" I thought. That was in the morning. Later at night , "Santander security" phoned me, trying to alert me to a scam. I rang the real Santander line and they said hundreds of their customers had been targeted by the same scammer.

There is a website "any unknown numbers" that you can put the unknown number in and it gives you how many times the number has been searched along with any feedback, ie scam calls. Usually gives the area the call is from. Fortunately I can on my phone decline and block any calls from anybody not in my contacts list. Any "missed calls" that I don`t recognize I can block. Certainly works well, I get no cold callers, if I get a call from what seems unknown BT will announce where the call is from before I accept.
