Well they do look very sophisticated I must say and well scrubbed up! Did you have them both at the same time or did they have to get used to one another I wonder, they look at ease with each other in the photograph. Miss Tasha knows exactly how to pose, it's captured them very well

Thanks Foxcote We went to see "Toby" at the breeder when he was just 10 weeks old. We then returned to collect him a couple of weeks later and while we were waiting, in ran this other 18 month old "titch" of a Sheltie (by the name of "Tasha") who sidled up to me, lay down next to my leg and rolled over for "tummy tickles"!! Well, that was it, I was smitten We learnt that she was also "for sale" as she was a little too small to be "shown" (her sister is a Crufts champion) I immediately decided that if we were having one, we would also have the other. They have been the best of friends ever since - and I've since discovered that she rolls over for almost everyone she meets! I reckon it was just a clever sales ploy Toby pretends to be boss, but Tasha wastes no time in putting him in his place. and I swear the postman thinks we have two ferocious wolves the other side of the front door

Great that you ended up with the two, I bet it was fun to watch Toby playing her up when he was a pup. I thought Tasha in particular looked a bit special and I can understand why now when you explained about the Cruft's sister. All the pedigree our scruffy little terrier has is the description from the seller, "this pup is the son of 'Whopper'" she proudly explained. We did see the famous mum 'Whopper' when we collected our pup, I don't know what she was but she certainly didn't have a pedigree but I can see the reason for her name cos she was a whopper!

Toby, when he was about 13 weeks old.... ... his toy is almost as big as he is!

Thank you, but don't let looks fool you Norm! I have to admit, they are pretty good though Norm, I have just read your post regarding your wife's sister's dog. How anyone can ill-treat an animal like that is totally beyond me. They deserve locking in a cage in the same way they treated those poor animals Lets hope it's road to recovery is a short one.

Morning TonyS. You have two beautiful companions there and they certainly know how to pose. We are all softies are we not when it comes to our four legged mates? Hi Norm, Anyone who could treat any animal in such a way never get what they deserve in the courts. They should be banned for life, and I feel sure we all think the same. It's times like that I wish I had taken up 'Law'.

Hi NormK, sad to hear about your relation's dog from Coundon Wedge, a place I wouldn't get a dog from, the only way to stop these people is for people not to buy from breeders, not many breeders do I hear give dogs conditions they should have, all they are interested in is making money from the breeds nowadays.

Some members asked for a progress report on my relative's dog from Rugby. Sad news I am afraid, she had to be put to sleep yesterday after breathing problems. An x-ray revealed a massive tumour in her head, so to prevent further suffering had to let her go. It's the saddest thing considering they nursed her back to full health, she got back to normal weight and was happy and waggy. I feel so sorry for these people after all their effort and they gave 6 months of loving care for it all to end in this way, life's a bitch.

Sad news indeed, Norm - been there, done it, know the pain They ARE part of one's family, which some find hard to appreciate We miss both of ours still, many years on from their passing

That darling little dog is not suffering any more Norm but I am sorry your relatives are. We can't love our pets enough but look what we get in return, unconditional love so they do know we love them so much.

Oh I bet they are so choked, especially after spending so much time on bringing the dog back to health and happiness. Do tell your relatives how sorry we are to hear the bad news.

Poor little thing so sorry to hear that NormK, I was wondering how it was getting on, thought it having such care with your relatives it would be far better and recover. Yes life is a bitch, I give my warmest wishes to your relatives at least they tried also kindness they showed, I hope it hasn't put them off in future taking another, if they ever feel to have another which would be great I highly recommend this one, as not to be disappointed again.

As most pet owners will face at one time, is the fact that we outlive our beloved pets. It's a sad thing to see them go, but (and I speak for most pet owners) while they are here they are loved and cared for, and they could not wish for a happier life. Love comes as part and parcel of owning a pet, whether it be a cat, dog, or even a horse. We miss them all a lot, but at the end of it you have them put down not for having something wrong with them but to put them out of pain, and end their suffering. My heart goes out to you NormK and the family that looked after the little doggie.
