Regarding that early electronic exchange, I also heard that fluorescent tubes in the telephone exchanges interfered with the equipment. I think the first one was opened and closed in one day because it did not work. Welcome to another GEC apprentice from the early 1960's I served my apprenticeship from 1961 to 1965 but on the transmission side.
