It's actually just a coffee and not bacon & eggs, Johnnie, but maybe the smell of filtered coffee might waft through! |

Hi all,
What a fabulous meet up. A couple arrived from across the pond that we had no idea of. Another surprise was our correspondent from Oxfordshire.
Thank you, Bev, our coffee hostess.

It was very brill indeed, being able to put a face to yet another of our esteemed members from north of the border, a nice surprise visitor from just 60 miles south of here.... and an extremely, unexpectedly pleasant surprise from across the pond from lindatee2002, who was "just passing by". What a huge but lovely coincidence! Three cheers.... |

I had a fantastic time, especially being able at long last to put a face to a name, although it was easy for me to pick out Rob and Philip who were kindly waiting for me.
Furthermore, I owe a huge debt of gratitude to a Moderator who had gone to enormous trouble to search my maternal Family History and bring the results today, it was greatly appreciated, especially having travelled a long way to bring it.
Finally, can I thank Bev & Rob for getting all the coffees! Thank you for taking the time to meet up and it was lovely to meet Lindatee2002 and her husband. |

I know that you've just had a coffee morning but who fancies a Sunday breakfast on the 23rd Oct? I shall be staying the night before so I can delay my departure for a bit. I know it's an odd day for you folks so no worries if you can't make it.
I'm also planning to have an amble round St Mary's Hall afterwards... although it is half term, so I may regret that decision. |

Hi guys. Where are we meeting for the 23rd breaky? Flying Standard again? Anywhere is fine by me but guess that's handy for the Guildhall after. Just trying to tempt Ben to join us. |

Works for me Do you think we need to book St Mary's in advance, it being half term and they have Halloween themes? |

Ooh..... fly in the ointment! I've just checked the Guildhall's booking page, and all dates from 22nd to 30th October are greyed out, thus unavailable to book. No idea why, but that appears to put the kybosh on our Guildhall plans.
It'll still be lovely to meet up on the morning of the 23rd, though, I'm sure there'll be plenty for us to chat about. Does 10am at the Trinity Street Wetherspoon's sound ok? |

Ah, I had a feeling that would be the case. Probably just as well, it's a long drive back and I want to give the Hall some attention.
10 at the Flying Standard is just right. Yum, yum. |

We had plans to be in Cov. sometime in mid to late September but I wasn't sure exactly when. I realized a day before that some of the forum members were meeting at Weatherspoons on Thursday 22 Sept, and if I was lucky, I could pop in and meet some of these people in the flesh. Lots of people in the restaurant, many in groups but, and I don't know how, I managed to identify a group of four who looked HCFers. I got it right. We couldn't stay long but it was fun to meet Rob, Phil and Wearethemods. There was a lady there, too but I missed her name.
We had a lunch date with some friends but even the short time spent at Weatherspoons was nice experience.
PS Breakfast at The Printmakers Cafe at the Canal Basin was great too. |

Hello, good morning, afternoon & evening, plus any other time.
I cannot attend the morning breaky, but I can recommend the quality of the Playwright cafe (Canal Basin) for breakfast or Sunday lunch. The lunch needs booking in advance, where they will ask which meat you would like. It's cooked & prepared to order. |

We will miss you, Philip but I knew Sunday would be problematic for people. I'll be back! |
