I can almost smell those sausages from here! How does about 9:30am in Wetherspoon's sound? Coincidentally, we went to sunny Bulkington last Saturday night to watch guitar maestro Gordon Giltrap at the Village Centre. I've never seen him play so well - absolutely marvellous! That's getting a bit off-topic though - I'd better give myself a darned good thrashing! Oh my

We'll be in town on Saturday, but we're going to IKEA first to buy a standard lamp. I'll call in later to see if anyone's still there. Otherwise, have a good meeting and all the best for Christmas!

Could not make it last time and cannot make it this time, what a "bummer". Helping my son to put solar panels on the roof. So I will say this, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL. Cheers Thumbs up

Thanks indeed to you all for such a pleasurable morning yesterday. Thumbs up Always good to see you all - and particularly nice to be able to put new faces to established names. Let's hope we can get more of the same in next year. Cheers

New member, endeavouring to rediscover the Coventry I knew over 50 years ago. Wasn't this beautiful building formerly Boots, the Chemist? And is the Conservative Club still on Priory Row?

Timothy Whites and Taylors ! And, no - it's in Queens Road now - I used to frequent the club when it was in Priory Row - as a chorister at Holy Trinity, we sometimes used it for extra choir practice - the smell of stale beer and tobacco !

I thought it was also called Boots after the takeover of Timothy White's in 1968?

Boots occupied part of it, but it was TW and T till well after that. We bought a set of saucepans there when we married in 73, from TW and T's shop - and still have them in almost daily use!!

Just a quick note to mention that a few of us will be joining up for a breakfast-time get-together at Wetherspoon's next Saturday 2nd June. Thumbs up If anyone wishes to join us, we're usually there by about 9:30am in the eating area on the right as you go in from Trinity Street. It'll be great to see some of your faces there for a sausage and a chat for an hour or so. Weather permitting we might even go for a stroll afterwards. Cheers to all, Cheers Rob

Hi Rob, Hi all Wave The weather people can't make their mind up just now as to when the weather will change. The on-line forecast first thing this morning said it was going change on Thursday, now it's tomorrow. It was so odd watching the race in wet Monaco, on the big screen this afternoon where we in Coventry were having to seek shade from the searing sun. UH! Wave
