Hi Jo. Since my Satellite dish broke about 2 years ago and my TV about the same time, I watch almost everything online. I binge watch box sets. Technically all of it is repeats but not necessarily something I've watched before. I periodically run out of stuff I really want to watch but I've now moved onto Audible and have lots to go at. I might have a year on Sky or Netflix for a change next year. Oh, and strictly no Chaplin. The closest to his genre I can stand is Abbott and Costello. Do they allow cannons in hand luggage?

I suspect you are younger that me (now 73) but for oldtimers or anyone who enjoys 'the good old days' or wallowing in nostalgia, I recommend Talking Pictures TV. It's not just lots of old b/w films going back to c 1930 but also long-forgotten TV series from 1960s onwards like The Saint, Gerry Anderson supermarionation puppet series, Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre and Look at Life, those short films shown in cinemas between the B-movie and the big feature. At 5pm today is The Footage Detectives, well worth watching because they show home movies recently rediscovered, last week there was colour film of Reading trolley buses and they often have films of towns all over Britain so Coventry could turn up any time.

Sorry Helen, I have just caught up with you. No, but in the news the other day there was another plane went through turbulence and one passenger landed in the luggage rack. They had to pull him out. Some passengers were seriously hurt and were hospitalised. I am the sort of person who always sees the funny side but rather him than me. I bet he had fallen asleep and found himself in the luggage rack. He could have been a stowaway.

Hello, It cannot be measured, also it affects everyone that goes contrary to the rotation of our planet, which is also moving. It's only apparent to someone viewing from another position. Do I understand this, by heck I don't.

Hello, Someone years ago started topics, like Our Philip. It says that it was me that started it, but that's only because earlier posts have been edited out. I much prefer this topic to share bits & pieces, because folk feel more at home replying. Anyway, I'm doing a bit of what I used to do for a living. I've not bullied my way in, far from it, but I've been very delighted to be asked to assist. No I'm not doing this generally. I was asked back in April to have a look at an odd scenario in a company which I did. What an spot! Anyway, lots of anyways, as I'm busy today with another business issue. Our, my forum is once again brill. I'm reminded that under the leadership of the Webmaster & guidance of the team, it's Our forum. I'm so grateful for them. You see, I've been looking for what's not there. I've just found it. Having the break, so releases my mind, that I don't lose sight of the big picture. So, my digression into hard water just did it. Morning Philip, not sure that I have ever been on a train going in reverse. You may be sitting backwards to the direction of the train, but you shall still be moving forwards.

Thank you Sir, At the point at which I decide what direction to go in, whether on a moving train or stood on the pavement, at the point of starting to move, the word "inertia" kicks in. It's the mathematics of going from zero to something. Do I understand it? No! Also, the perception is only apparent to someone in a different sphere. Honestly, I've only had coffee & cornflakes.

Hello, Most of the invisible sciences remain as just numbers or words for me. A bit of banter & amusement like here, but I do ponder trying to get my head around some of these concepts. Even asking what is zero? I've never seen zero, only as a number. I can't imagine zero or the other end infinity. Like me, infinity goes on & on, but zero is precise. Not the best analogy but I found what was missing in someone's set of accounts because it wasn't there. So, I had found it. More water please.
