Some terrific images I have just been given permission to share from one of the Coventry FB pages. Thanks to Phil Consadine who was given these photos by an engineer who worked for Bunty Coaches. Pool Meadow junction with Priory Street facing towards Ford Street. On the first picture, if you look to the right you can see the Coaches plying for day trips, Birmingham and the Villa, Horse Racing at Cheltenham or even the seaside at Skeggy. On the back of the *Midland Red*, double decker is an advert for Goodwins Flour, if you look at one of the other pictures you can see Goodwins Mill chimney rising above Godfreys Travel Agents.

I'm amazed how close that one is to the Ring Road around the other side. Talk about wedged in!

Tekmelf What's the odds that the leading bus the far end coming out of Pool Meadow is a Lentons Lane?

What memories I've been left so long I could not remember any except the city bus numbers.

Prof. Now that one I don't know. You remember how they used to play the National Anthem at the close of a film or theatre, and if you stood to the end, say the Gaumont or the Empire, you got to Pool Meadow to see the rear end of the bus pull in to Ford Street and you faced walking to Bell Green. Or you went to the Standard Cinema, got off at the Gas Showrooms, to see the rear end of the Bedworth bus disappearing up Bishop Street. I remember it well.
