Coventry Digital

Hello, The obvious is the motor vehicles, but there's community in the first picture.

One really for Rob - is it me or are there still a few photos that haven't made it from Pictures of Coventry onto Coventry Digital? I've a feeling that there were some stables at the back of Leicester Street/Dogge Lane.

Yes, I believe there's still quite a lot of images from that old collection that haven't appeared on Coventry Digital. The first reason that came to mind was that some of the originals hadn't been scanned in an acceptably high resolution. But then, thinking about it again, I think that all of those on Pictures of Coventry were originally being offered for sale as prints up to 10" x 8" - so they must've been reasonably detailed. One particular photo I recall that I'd love to see in greater detail was this one, looking across the ground cleared for the new Council House towards Caesar's Tower on the back of the Guildhall....

There are a lot of photos with no negatives from which to get clearer scans but finding them all is a bit of a nightmare. But better scans of those photos would be better than the PoC versions. The scans of David Fry's postcards are smashing. There are also negatives tucked away in mixed boxes eg I came across a packet of Chauntry Place negs a while back that haven't been scanned yet.
