Correct. His droning, funerial voice does not inspire. On the Eggheads, he wastes lots of time by interjecting, completely unnecessarily, all the time. His forte is stating the bleaking obvious, for example, before reading out every question, and bearing in mind that each round has a mere 3 questions: "get this wrong and you've lost the round!". As if nobody understands that 3 is bigger than 2 or 1 - infant school stuff.
And I cringe when it goes to sudden death: "I don't give you
alternatives [sic]". Sometimes he gets it right and uses the word options.
