I hope I can speak for many of us forum members and thank MR for the daily views of the Coventry news pics. I have started to look forward to these every day, those of which I have never seen before. Thank you MR.

30th Jun 1954 The first Stock Car meeting at Coventry Stadium, with heat one being won by Percy 'Hellcat' Brine. I only ever went to see a couple of stock-car races, but I do remember cheering on the well known Willie Harrison when I was a young lad taken to Brandon by my dad. Let's all hope that the place will one day soon open again for two and four wheel racing.

Blimey, here I am still up after midnight (and haven't turned into a pumpkin yet, although I'm starting to become that shape!), so I might as well put up tomorrow's (I mean, "today's") offering.... 1st Jul 1978 The "Earlsdon Village Festival" marked 125 years of the foundation of Earlsdon. 1st Jul 1423 Mayor Henry Peyto and his brethren ordained that a new Coventry Cross should be built. (I wonder if the aldermen did "pinch, punch, it's the first of the month" on him beforehand?)
