On 9th May 2018 7:22am, Rob Orland said: 9th May 1940 A Mobile Canteen was presented to the City of Coventry by Mrs. H. H. Harley, wife of the managing director of Coventry Gauge and Tool Co., Ltd, after an idea proposed by Councillor Pearl Hyde.
On 9th May 2018 9:19am, Kaga simpson said: Yes, our Councillor Pearl Hyde did wonders for our city during the war and after - one of the few greats in the City Council that was prepared to roll their sleeves up and serve the people.
Yes Rob, Pearl Hyde was much respected and I remember her.
