Morgana, I had two ideas when I saw the picture - it was either looking back from Corley Rocks, or could have been somewhere like Siskin Drive at Baginton looking at the city centre from that direction. I figured out that the view from Baginton would show the spires and tall buildings in the city centre, and that Corley Rocks was a better bet because most of your posts relate to Longford, Keresley, Bedworth, and Nuneaton - the north side of Coventry. It also helps me to have lived in Bedworth for almost 39 years, although as I have been told, I am not local. Regards. Roger

I remember, as a child of seven, standing more or less there and seeing the Homefire monstrosity being built. I was really unhappy about it, even at that age. I lived in its shadow in Keresley End until I was 12. Thank goodness the view is a bit better now, although the buildings which replaced it are very soulless, aren't they? Angry

Yes not a pretty sight, was it, Woodford, I used to stand by the gates waiting for my boyfriend to finish his shift. I never believe industrial sites should be close to where communities live. Yes, soulless is the word for what has replaced it, they have now built more houses towards the old entrance, one of my sisters lives in one. My other sister living in the village was glad when the Homefire plant was taken down, lot less dust to clean up now. Big grin

A quick guess - is it Livingstone Rd between the swimming baths and the corner of Foleshill Rd?

Hi Morgana, yes I think it was public toilets, but they have been closed for many years. Eventually the swimming baths and everything on that side of the road will be demolished and someone will come up with a bright scheme such as some more student flats. There is a nice little green space right on the corner of Livingstone Rd and Foleshill Rd, it would be nice to expand this into the area occupied by the long closed toilets, but I expect that it is cheaper at the moment for the city council to leave the empty building standing there. Regards. Roger

Thank you Not Local. I thought they were toilets it's just a shame the little green area is next to the rubbish tip main road leading into the city where litter is strewn everywhere, what visitors to our city think goodness knows. Sad
