According to planning records the shop on the corner of Queen Victoria Road and Croft Road was H. Pickin (or Picken) glass and china ware up until 1966.

I've just come across this one - looking north (that's the station at the bottom) on what was obviously a very clear day. The city centre looks tiny!

Thank you for the picture NeilsYard, you are right the city centre does look small. I zoomed in twice and it still looked quite clear. I have just spent half an hour trying to recognise places. |
