I notice that preliminary work has started on the redevelopment of the Toll Bar Island
I wonder what will become of this, at present situated just into Stonebridge Highway from the existing roundabout?
There are still quite a few around our city but it would be a shame to lose one because of a lack of forethought on someone's part |

I can confirm that the above boundary marker, and the one just inside London Road, have both now been removed, and I would be interested to know whether they have in fact gone for safe keeping
Can anyone help? |

Hi MR, I hate to say it but, maybe the sign of the times and it is sitting on someone's rockery at the moment. Nothing would surprise me these days. |

The Council claimed quite a few things during my demolition days, the only thing I saw again was the Frederick Bird sign, which they re-erected on the front lawn of the new school. You never know, they may have a compound somewhere to store such items. Milly rules

I was delighted to see, this morning, that the boundary marker featured in post #1 above has been restored to its position alongside Stonebridge Highway, close to the new junction. |

Excellent! I was only thinking about this a couple of days ago and had planned to email the City Council. No need now. |

It's good to see that on this (presumably) old marker, it's the City of Coventry in the County of Warwick, quite rightly when all said and done.

Nor me. Some years ago, a whole front garden wall made of heavy rustic stone was stolen overnight from a house in Stivichall Croft. Nobody heard or saw a thing!

Excellent, MR. I know one of them well, as it's near where I work, on the Kenilworth Road. And not a mention of West Midlands!

I wonder if these boundary markers were ever replaced after the war? |

Slim,
I have an awful habit of seeing the funny side of some situations and It amuses me to think of someone having the nerve to steal a heavy rustic stone wall overnight and then a wall of the same nature suddenly appearing somewhere else. Strikes me as an April Fool's joke!
