AMB was/is an American brewery but did have a couple of breweries in Europe pre war.. May still have for all I know, nobody tells me anything...

The American AMB is "Appalachian Mountain Brewery" and has no connection with either Ansells or M&B, both of which were founded in Birmingham in the 19th century. |

Very true but the pub also closed in 1959 and I think it highly unlikely it would have been repainted immediately before closure.

There was a tunnel leading up to the Leofric between Owen Owens and a pub on the right, in the fifties, anyone tell me the name of pub please, holds a very sad story for me. |

I think you're confused Dreamtime?
The Silver Sword was in Trinity Street, some distance away.
The White Lion was at the junction of Cross Cheaping and West Orchard.
