Thanks for the help everybody. I've removed the picture now and will continue to think about where it might be exactly.

Just to place the row of buildings in the link I made and Dutchman's picture which I now realize is the same row from a different place, one of the shop signs is A McCutchion. In 1901 Allan McCutchion was trading at 23 Jordan Well as a greengrocer. Surprisingly he is still trading in this 1959 picture

Found this 4" high trophy that my Dad won at The Engine (Longford) as Runners-up of the Foleshill & District Division 1 darts league 1945/1946.

My hubby is tearing his hair out trying to think of the name of the pub at the bottom of Trinity Street that was opposite the Coventry Theatre. We were talking about how Peter Butterworth, after appearing in Aladdin at the theatre in 1979, was found dead in his room there. Many stars used to stay in this pub but for the life of us we can't think of its name. Can anyone enlighten us please?

If it was the old black and white pub it was called I think the Smithfield.

I can't think of a pub ever being at the Trinity St corner. The Smithfield was/is at the Burges/Corporation St corner. Norman

It was the Smithfield that was opposite the Cov Theatre. It was the Wine Lodge on the corner of the Burges.

The Smithfield was corner of Hales Street and Trinity Street set back opposite the Hippodrome and Sainsburys, Norman Conquest. Yes Dreamtime the one corner of Burges and Corporation Street is now the Tudor Rose prior I knew it as the Tally Ho in the 80s.
