It has recently been repainted."

These two stone pieces are from the original rubble in the ruins of the Old Cathedral - a pinnacle from the top of an outer wall, and part of a pillar. Some time ago I was emailed with a similar question, then the person asking the question got an answer from the Coventry Archives and passed it back on to me. I'm not certain of any particular significance though - maybe they were just considered as "ornaments" for the park? Hope this is what you were looking for. Thumbs up

I'm guessing Rob the significance of it being a Memorial Park was the reason for the move but they do seem a little out of place. Why not leave at the Cathedral? That triumphal Arch did look a little 'Brandenburg-gate'ish' Dutchman! Smile

You'll probably think I'm daft (assuming you didn't already know for sure!), but I hadn't even thought of that significance when I made that post! Doh! Blush It all makes sense now, some of it !

My postcard of it is from 1905 (the black and white one above), so possibly a year or two before that when the photograph was taken.
