I can't find anything in Coventry Planning, Neil. It does say it is a listed building

OK so I asked the question to the Love Earlsdon FB page and had this response re: The Albany : The scaffolding is to make repairs to keep the building in a decent state. I don't know how often you walk past it, but the ceiling in the front room had fallen down. As far as I know, the community preservation order still stands, so it can't be converted into anything else Not sure who is funding that but I hate seeing it empty Sad Apparently it's owned by the Coventry Freemen's Charity.

So there is a Facebook page just created for 'The New Albany' opening within 5 weeks! Cheers (although it does mention smart dress so hoping it does not go too wine-bar-like and stays proper pub-like).

Great to see that The Albany reopens Friday 23th November. I'm pretty sure it won't be too wine bar-like. It's a venture worthy of support and a venue supporting live music.

Indeed Vernon - I'm liking what they found (and are preserving!) under the floor/carpet.

Thanks for the link MR. The Pilot goes way back for me when I lived in Beake Ave. It looks 100% nicer now than it did then. I do like the nautical theme. Wave
