Hi choirboy. Robthu could see the cartoon but only when he was logged out of this forum. He hasn't tested if it reappears when he logs out yet. Can either of you see the view from BFA below?

Facts as of Tuesday 7th May 2024.
I am on Windows 11.
I cannot get Coventry Digital material on Chrome signed in or signed out.
I did manage to get it in FireFox until I signed in, now I cannot get it signed in or signed out.
I can go to Coventry Digital home page with Chrome and all is normal, ie, search or view.
If I use my phone which is not signed in to the forum, I can view both the forum and Coventry Digital as normal.
I have switched cookies on and off in various positions with no difference made, I am now completely muddled as to what and where I am, so throw it open to more knowledgeable members for any insight they can give me, thank you.

Thanks for the replies. It seems to be a similar problem to that which Rob and I had last year but the solution isn't the same. That the BFA image doesn't appear means that it isn't Coventry Digital that is the problem but something to do with Smartframe, the software that Coventry Digital and Britain From Above use. I will mull the problem and get back to you. |

Found the problem. If I disable the uBlock extension in Firefox, images are loaded OK. I notice uBlock was upgraded on 22/04/2024 so that's maybe when things changed. (I have been away from the Forum while travelling.)
I have just downloaded Chrome and it shows the images "out-of-the-box", Robthu may have some default blockers in Chrome. uBlock has the following:"Out of the box, uBO blocks ads, trackers, coin miners, popups, etc. through the following lists of filters, enabled by default:
- EasyList (ads)
- EasyPrivacy (tracking)
- Peter Lowe's Ad server list (ads and tracking)
- Online Malicious URL Blocklist
- uBO's own lists"
Hope this helps |

That sounds like it might be the issue Choirboy, thanks! Although why it worked for Robthu before he logged into the forum but not after is a mystery. |

The problem I have with CD is if I search and there are a lot of pictures, I only get one row. All the other pictures appear to be stacked behind, and I just see a line, like a pack of cards. This is on my Ipad, when I go on my PC I will see if it does it on there. it does not do it all the time I have just searched to try and scan an example and of course it will not do it. |

Hi Robthu,
In Firefox there should be a tiny jigsaw icon (quite topical!) at the top right, click on this then select "manage extensions". Look for uBlock Origin and disable it and return to the Historic Coventry Forum tab where an image is not loading, refresh the page. If uBlock is not installed then try disabling each extension one at a time, testing each one by reloading the HCF page. That's what worked for me.
Now I will suss out how to make a local custom list of allowed url's since I don't want to have to disable/enable uBlock all the time.

Hi Choirboy,
Thank you, although it wasn't uswitch on mine, it was Adblock that I have been using for years, I do remember it updated in the last couple of days, as soon as I turned it off and refreshed all became normal in both Chrome and Firefox. I now have to find another ad blocker.
Thank you all for your assistance, I would never have solved it without your help. That's another reason I like this forum, we all pull together, thank you.

It may be that you can set exceptions in your adblockers. Alternatively they may update soon and smartframes will work again. |

Hi Anne. Sometimes one bit of software affects another. It may be that the problem only arises after you've used specific software/app. Once you've restarted the machine you have a clean setup. |

Loads more photos being uploaded from David Fry and Albert Smith! Special interest for those interested in Radford, Hillfields and Foleshill but too many to list separately. Heroes! |
