Changes of Address April 1941

For anyone interested in how shops were affected by bombing here is part of the Midland Daily Telegraph for 10 April 1941

This is fascinating, rocksolid, thank you. Published two days after the big raid of the 8th April, how sad that some of these addresses would have had to change yet again by the following morning, after the Luftwaffe followed up with the second of the pair of Easter raids.

Amazing that Agers is still there, but now has 20-26.

Yes indeed. I'm very grateful that I have this copy and a number of other editions of the Coventry Evening Telegraph as it became in November 1941. I've had them for nearly 50 years, the result of an appeal I made in the CET for material relating to Coventry 1930-1950. It's a project I've been making on and off all this time, easier now with so much material available on the internet.

It's good to know Ager's is still trading after all this time, so many independent retailers have gone to the wall. Actually I have a question someone may be able to help me with. Recently I came across a new source of wartime photos online but have lost the link to it, I have a vague idea it was one of those sites where you have a map you can click on to view photos of a particular street/building (no, it wasn't Coventry Atlas, I've checked). I think the map was orange? Anyway I found a fascinating shot of the Ager's shop full on in c 1943, with the next shop to the right in the block of 3 used by Orme Bros, gents outfitter's who had been bombed out of Market Place. Does this ring any bells?
