No, it stopped at Styvechale Gate where there were several other footpaths branching off from it. One of these eventually became the section of Earlsdon Avenue which joined the Kenilworth Road.

Couple of crackers to add to this.

On the occasions I go into town on my scooter I use the route across Spencer Park and Grosvenor Road footbridge as it is far less dangerous than trying to negotiate the new junctions on Warwick Road. They have put dropped kerbs in along the new routes but at one point I have to have the front wheels of my scooter in the road before I can see round the wall.

I have mentioned the granite setts from Warwick Road goods yard before. I always assumed that they were hewn by prisoners on Dartmoor or similar many, many years ago. Today some one told me that they probably came from Spain. Does any know if this is likely? To me, it appears highly unlikely that granite setts would be transported over such a long distance all those years ago?

There was no need to source granite setts from Spain or even from Dartmoor. Jees Granite Quarries at Hartshill, near Nuneaton, produced them. This webpage notes that quarries at Mountsorrel, Leicestershire, and others in North Wales, also specialised in granite setts.

Great pictures NeilsYard I'm just curious to know why the station pilot was pushing a parcels van off towards Nuneaton? Perhaps one our railway experts can tell me?

During the rebuilding of the station the original luggage bridge was removed before the new bridge was opened. The station pilot and parcels coach was used to transfer parcels and luggage between the platforms. Peter.

Thanks Peter I understand that but the picture shows the station pilot far to the west of the station.
