Hello Neil, The small white circle in the picture is about the spot. It is down in the dell by the big purple beech and coast redwood. Go to Ircemetery.co.uk to see a bit more on James Murray and a quite up to date picture. We as the Friends do what we can to keep things tidy, but the monument itself is falling into disrepair. You are still welcome to take me up on the offer I made you. Regards Derek.

Hi NeilsYard, From memory:- From the main entrance if you go along the promenade until you reach the first path going off to the right (into a dip), bear to the left and then it should be somewhere around there on the left hand side (about 50 yards along(?)). It's a little set back from the edge of the path.

Can I give a big thanks to Derek for his help and guidance in helping me to find my ancestors' graves in the London Road Cemetery. I have used his skills to cover two other cemeteries and now I can say I have achieved in finding my ancestors' graves back to the mid 1850s. I would advise anyone starting to do Family History to spend some moments looking at family grave headstones. You will be surprised what you may find, I have found uncles and aunties I did not know I had. Good on you Derek Thumbs up

My name is Julia and I am a textile artist from Coventry and currently working on some creative research about the London Road Cemetery along with a local playwright. We've been particularly interested in the story of the Beech Tree move and I just want to thank you all for taking the time and trouble to research the story of the tree here. We have a sharing of our research so far on Weds 1st Feb at the Shop Front Theatre, City Arcade, at 7.30pm. So do pop down if you want to find out what we're up to. Its £2 entry and free tea and coffee. Regardless of the event, I look forward to exploring this site further. Thanks again Julia x

I have that postcard too - I won't download a copy of mine! The nearest I could get to it back in 2010 was this:
