Thanks NeilsYard & Flapdoodle - I enjoy finding 'hidden history', there's so much history buried or locked away (mostly due to vandalism) in Coventry (eg: St. Catherine's Well, the London Road Cemetery non-conformist chapel, Herbert Art gallery archives, etc.) ~ I wish these things could be open to the public more often.

Same as mate. Love coming across those hidden 'snippets' that still remain unnoticed. |

Hi. I read with interest the North Side list of burials in the London Road Cemetery, has anyone produced a South Side (New Cemetery) list for London Road or St Paul's or Windmill Road Cemetery Question |

Tony1.
If you go on to the Coventry Family History site you will find you can purchase Disc's covering London Road Cemetery from 1847 up to 1972, also one for St Pauls.

Hi all,
On the 12th of December, between 10:30 and 12:00, Ian Woolley is launching his book about the London Road Cemetery and those buried there, in the Coventry History Centre. Our friend Ian (of the Friends of the London Road Cemetery) has put a great deal of research and time into producing this book - I'm sure it'll make a fascinating read.

All - I know there are one or two members of the Friends society on here (Robthu?) - can anyone tell me whereabouts the architect James Murray's grave is please?
I have a photo of the marker. Given the amazing contribution he gave to Coventry and the number of buildings he designed I'm planning a visit next week to pay my respects whilst visiting family plots. Does anyone know if it's looked after? |

Hi Neil, do you have a plan of the cemetery? If so, you will find the grave (with headstone) in Square 77, Grave No 1.
If you need any further guidance to the plot just give me a shout |
