Photographs taken during the Irish Presidents visit to Coventry's Medieval Guildhall seem to show the appearance of a ghostly figure behind our Lord Mayor during Michael D Higgins address. You can view them in the Telegraphs article here and make your own mind up! Hover over the 'M' icon below to see what I think! Edited by TonyS, 12th Apr 2014 9:25 am (Me? I just think it's a reflection in the glass-fronted tapestry casing behind them! The right side of the ghost matches the shape of the empty chair in the photo - and if you zoom in you can just make out the reflection of someones hand clapping!)

Seems the monk ghost has moved position TonyS. I personally think this one may be a fault in the film as it's not as clear figure as the monk which I found that link last week with other ghosts of Britain. Thanks for sharing your find. Thumbs up

It must have been a very slow news day at the appalling Telegraph! Roll eyes Surely nobody is gullible enough to swallow any of this ghost drivel. It is poor and irrelevant journalism when the visit of the Irish President was actually something newsworthy. Maybe they need to invest in better camera equipment. Or a new photographer. Wink

I agree Mr Di-Di. Absolute drivel, and shows about the level of reporting on that so-called 'newspaper'. On another forum someone from Dublin complimented Coventry for hosting the Irish premier, and commented that the city looked very nice on the news reports. All the telegraph can do is post dumb articles about reflections being ghosts.

I'm not sure the article should be taken too seriously - it was in no way the main headline of the day following the Irish Presidents visit. I only highlighted here as I thought it might raise a smile Smile Oh well, never mind Roll eyes

Don't take it too harsh, it gave us something to moan about. Smile It was quite prominent on the Telegraph website, though, for some time. Anyway, it was good to see someone make a visit to Coventry - shame the UK press/news ignored it as soon as it was outside London!

I have started to research my childhood family home. Is anyone aware that the contents of the Guildhall and the stained glass windows were stored at Willoughby House, Willoughby, Warwickshire through the war? I have numerous letters from and to Council officials on the subject. Makes interesting reading. Does anyone have more info on this?

Hi David the only thing I can think of that comes close to your research is the stained glass window that ended up in a church in Iceland that was supposed to have come from Coventry Cathedral but later proved to be wrong in the TV programme "the great glass mystery" could it have come from the Guildhall I wonder?

I love that one Helen especially for the colours, could be a good caption to that considering she is poking it with her 'gamp'. 'Is that a little mouse I've just seen'? Smile
