No, I haven't seen it before either. I used to play at the back of that wall and the bomb site that it fronted. |

Just had a light bulb thought. I could have done with that picture for my book, chapter 3 is that bomb site. Proof my memory is still working. |

I used to catch a bus here frequently in the late 50's - early 60's and spent time looking in the shop windows. I got my leather satchel from the shop on the right. Later on I got a stylish little vanity case too. I think you could buy on 'the knock' or have them put things away while you paid a bit weekly. |

My dad bought me a three compartment leather briefcase from Tooby Atkins when I left home for college in Bristol, 1956. |

I am relying entirely on memory, but when the new Coventry railway station opened in the sixties, it included a leather travel goods seller, where that name rings a bell. Ding dong. I bought a black leather brief case, & a leather document folder, that lasted until my retirement. Their merchandise was displayed in huge glass columns in the station entrance. At the time, I was coming from London, thought how good the prices were. |

Gray Forster on the 'Coventry we used to know' FB page has allowed me to share this one. Not many images of these old properties at the southern end which lasted in to the 80s. I think they were the ones which were next door to the later Parsons Nose.

Even rarer was one to include a capture of that corner.

Those are rare. That left side of Bishop Street was poorly recorded, whereas the other side of the road is very well served with images. |

Quite correct. Here they are (were) in 2009

Nice one, Cliff I used the Parsons etc., just wish I had taken more notice of them. Mind you I could say the same for many an older building that's now gone. I actually thought they'd gone earlier than that. |

I think I had seen this one before but its a great capture to include that corner building which was rarely covered by the camera - it can't be long before War broke out looking at the dress/vehicle's etc.
