Heathite, Your photo on 82 is a wonderful shot of Owen Owen, considering it only had a life-span of about four years. Once again there's a keep-left sign in the picture, but how that other gets in I have know idea (you relation to Paul Daniels?)

When did the Sainsburys building go up with the roof parking? Looking at old maps - '55-'60?

Hi Neil. l remember going in the old store with the marble tiled floor on the other side of Trinity Street about 63/64

The planning application was approved on 13th Feb 1963.

In post 85, there is a large single story building on the LHS (just before the Silver Sword). Can anyone remember what business was there, please. I know that it sat empty for some time (in the early 60`s).

Phil, Tandy/Radio Shack had a shop in Fairfax Street near Fishy Moore's, opposite Pool Meadow when I moved to Coventry in 1984. I don't think it lasted more than a couple of years after that. The Tandy Corporation brought Radio Shack in 1962, but then started re-using the Radio Shack brand in 1995 and finally changed its name to Radio Shack in 2000. Peter.

I think there was a tv rental shop called Visionhire. We rented a tv from there. Does anyone recall a hairdressers at the bottom of Trinity Street on the opposite side (Patricia's)? I reckon this must have been in the mid to late 60s.

Is that a police bike directly behind the orange Volkswagen Beetle? If so it will be a Meriden built Triumph Saint, 650cc, with an officer from the Coventry Traffic Department on a city centre patrol.
