Hi Covmanuk, Hi all, Wave I had an aunt who lived in Blackwell Rd. My strongest memory was the smell of the Webster & Bennett foundry drifting in the air constantly. When I was first at Courtaulds, 1965ish, Friday dinner times were spent at the Angel pub, where a real scrummy dinner was to be had for 3/-. I hope you remember that sign for money. It's always food with me, hey! Wave

Hi covmanuk, Wave Yes, I hope to be there. Regards Blackwell Rd, The one thing that I liked about the houses there, was the design, even though they were small. My home here is very similar in design, which I bought in 1968. Wave

Hi Philip My nan lived in 45 Blackwell Road (Doris Ballance) and my mum's name was Kathleen, she was telling me that she can remember a lady by the name of Mrs Collard, she lived at 49 and she was the one that got a street party for VE Day and for King George VI and trips to see the lights at Leamington, she thinks it was called the charabanc. Thumbs up The good old days as mum said

Hi all I lived in Blackwell Road from 1967 to 1990, and my parents from 1960 to 1999. We lived at number 13, and had a fair few friends in the street. Our back garden actually backed on to The Angel Pub. I remember Mrs Collard (to be honest I don't remember the person, but definitely the name). I'd say my strongest memory from those days was the day of the Silver Jubilee, in 77. I remember we all dressed up and ended the day with a party upstairs at the General Wolfe. I'm so glad you started this thread, and I hope others spot it too, it's great to learn things about where you grew up Smile
