I agree, Neil but I reckon Prof could be making a statement.

Am confident that Sir Thomas White statue is in the original spot. There was a Book of Remembrance just in front and the page turned day by day! |

But weren't the tank from WWI and the guns from the Crimean War, and placed in Coventry years apart? The one above was only at Stoney Stanton Road for about a couple of years. |

The tank was moved to Stoney Stanton Road in 1938. It had been bought by Alfred Herbert and he found a new place for it. Two years later in 1940 he decided to have it broken up and the metal used in the war effort. The tank and the guns are different topics. |

Sadly looks like the villas on Greyfriars Green are going to go
I'd like to meet Anne Lynch planning officer Anne Lynch has said the buildings are of "limited historic interest" and of "low significance."

This is outrageous! Hope you can do something, Neil? Does it include Warwick Row and the house where George Eliot was at school? As if there are not enough high rise student blocks overshadowing Coventry's history.
Usually though planning officers get what they want in the end. |
