I think the baptist church would be beyond both Trinity and St Michael's. |

MR's right, the Baptist church is on the other side of the spires. The cone on the left is on the tower of St Mary's and the cupola, in line with St Michael's, is on the hall part of the school. It threw me at first because they seem too far apart from each other. |

I have fiddled about with this on Google Earth so that the items line up. Bottom right is the roof of the Old Grammar School. But, with the perspective shown on the original photograph I would suggest that the print is only a portion of the negative - just as if you had zoomed in with your present cameras.

The building on the left is the end of the Meal Hall, which seems to have run all the way from Cross Cheaping to the more open Bull Ring that appears on the 1749 Bradford Map but had gone by at least 1807. The image looks roughly west along Ironmonger Row from the Bull Ring. Palmer Lane is the opening on the right hand side of the road, just beyond the Pilgrims Rest. |

Nice one! He lived at the back of number 21 The Burges in house number 1. The building you can just see to the left seems to still be there. |

Almost the same view
I'm not 100% sure which of the two doors in the distance was the passageway to the court.
If you follow the gutter on the white painted building down, you get to the surviving building with its rounded corner. There is a new small building where Mr Morrel's terraced cottage was was. |

They are not tramlines as not on the tram network but does anyone know what these were for, behind the Burges by Palmer Lane?

At one point the area was a slaughter house but it's more likely to be a decaying parking surface. I'd look at the later maps to see what was there but I'm saving my allowance for a more detailed study. |
