So far you haven't missed much. There's been enough rain to make it muggy but not enough to water the plants.

I can think of an example of improper rain but I'd have to use asterisks

There's a shop in Plymouth called Proper Pasties. I was tempted to ask them if they knew where I could buy fake pasties.
Supermarkets get me. There are signs everywhere for Fresh Fish, Fresh Meat, Fresh Vegetables, Fresh Fruit and so on. I'm always tempted to ask an assistant where I can find the stale stuff.
Which reminds me of how place names originated. It was explained on the radio, years ago, Noel Edmonds IIRC, that it was practice to let meat mature to enhance the flavour. They used to tie joints of meat up with rope and hang it from beams to mature, which is where NottingHam got its name.
But if they left it to hang for too long, it went past its best, so they sent it up north, to OldHam.
After that, when putrefaction was well under way, and it was no longer fit for human consumption, it was exported.
They sent it by ship to RottedHam.

None of it. The bit about Nottingham was a Noel Edmonds joke. Or an attempt at a joke.
The Oldham bit is one I thought up, to extend the logic.
But an old school friend had to go one better, hence the Rotterdam.
