Well Dutchman and Primrose it looks as if I was not dreaming after all. Well I am amazed funny how some stories just stick and I have to say it was heroic, thank goodness we never see anything like that ever again, thanks both for the response. Colin

Is it White Street, with Swanswell Park to the right? And the Hippodrome in the background? |

Yes i would say the same myself, You can see Goodwins chimney on the left, and the Swanswell railings and water on the right Milly rules

That pile of bricks had once been the Toby's Head!
Once it was cleared it became a car park for many years.

For instance, where were they dancing towards the end of the film?

I am just on my second Brandy and Babycham and even I thought there was something a bit odd with the traditional procedure of smoking a pipe! |

Glad you enjoyed it Foxcote, you saw it was Bill Owen, but the Mother was played by Sheila Mercer who played Mrs Sugden in the original Emmerdale Farm. Some great clips. The prefabs were Canley, and the old houses to be knocked down were in Cheylesmore |
