I agree local transport is vital for Friargate, which is why I was dismayed during that Covjam thing when I suggested a much bigger bus presence, which would be useful both to integrate transport for the entire city AND the development itself, in exchange for some of the office space (which is incredibly optimistic and could always be extended further into the city centre if demand did arise) someone involved on the project itself basically turned round and said it was a stupid idea.

I`ve just googled them, they`re in Parliament Square, London at the moment so they seem quite a catch for Coventry Thumbs up Just read the latest article on the net - they`re not relocating from London, the Friargate office will be 35,000 square feet, about a third of the building

They currently have two offices Mick, one as you say in Parliament Square, the other is in the Westwood Business Park, Coventry. It is this one that is relocating to Friargate. Oh my

It has just been announced that they are moving 300 staff from Westwood to a new office in Friargate - most of whom will be used to just driving up to the door. I wonder how they will travel to work once they move?

Just a thought.... maybe they'll run a Park-and-Ride service between the Westwood Business Park and Friargate! Big grin

I wonder if they'll be moving staff up from their existing HQ, as the RICS seem to be moving their HQ to Coventry. Westwood has problems of its own. Business aren't moving there because of the traffic problems, Friargate is a far better central location. There are these things with lots of seats and wheels that carry people around. Some of them even run on rails.

Yes but the ones that will have any sort of decent service won't be stopping at Coventry!

Now it appears The Rocket is going under the Friargate development - does anyone know if the lovely original 'house' (solicitors) in Eaton Road will go as well?

I visited the solicitors (Richardson & Davies) last month and they said that they would be moving a part of the Friargate development.

Thanks for that info Peter Thumbs up For everyones info, Richardson Davies are based at 3 Park Road and right next door is Payne Skillington (I wonder what happened to "Dabbs"?) at 12 Manor Road, so I guess they may well be moving also. There is also the question of the 'original house' referred to by Neil which is the huge detached building standing at 8 Eaton Road, currently occupied by RBM Solicitors.

Payne Skillington have said that they will have to move eventually, but at the moment they do not have any timescale thereon
